Sexual Therapy

Sexual Therapy

Numerous researches reveal that one out of three people have, in the course of their lives suffered sexual dysfunction at least on one occasion. Studies on the frequency of sexual dysfunction carried out in various societies and cultures yield similar results. However, while in societies where sexual intercourse is banned and sexual education is not given, and sexuality is taboo, and virginity is highly overrated, the occurrence of vaginismus and lack of sexual desire in women and sexual desire dysfunction and early ejaculation problems are more frequent in comparison to those encountered in societies where sexual freedoms are established.

Likewise, early ejaculation has been noted in men who have less sexual experience is encountered, and various orgasmic difficulties are more frequent in women who live in sexually suppressed societies compared to other communities.

A considerable portion of sexual problems in Turkey arise from inadequate education and lack of knowledge. Thus, as our sexual behavior is guided by the attitude of the community towards sexuality, its prejudices/taboos, customs and traditions constitute considerable source of impediments vis a vis resolutions to sexual problems.
