Nurdan Özçelebi
Psychologist Nurdan Özçelebi graduated with honors degree from Istanbul Kültür University, Department of Psychology in 2018. She is in the thesis process in Istanbul Arel University Clinical Psychology Master's Program and she continues to work on developing a self-perception-focused scale.
Özçelebi, who has been involved in various social responsibility projects since 2014, has carried out career studies with university candidate youth and their families in the projects. She has been involved in, and has given various seminars to students in schools related to this subject. Currently, she is actively involved in graduate mentoring programs and helps students set and implement goals for their personal development.
In addition to her undergraduate and graduate education, her basic therapy training includes EMDR I. Level and II. Level, Solution Focused Therapy, Strategic Couple and Family Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy by Clinical Psk. Dr. Evangeline Munns who is a Play Therapist Certified and Registered by the American and Canadian Play Therapy Institute, and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy by Susan M. Knell. In addition to basic therapy trainings, she has participated in many congresses, symposiums, panels and seminars various trainings of experts such as Liana Lowenstein, Robin Shapiro, Prof. Dr. Jeffrey A. Kottler and Dr. John B. Arden. She can apply the Moxo Attention Test.
She has been working in DBE Child and Youth Department since 2018 and carries out psychotherapy work with children, teenagers, adults and families. She works with children and teenagers on issues such as trauma, emotional problems, anxiety disorders (such as separation anxiety, test anxiety, social phobia), fear, anger control problem, eating disorders, divorce, academic performance improvement, relational problems and social skills development. She also works with parents on issues such as anxiety, burnout, inadequacy and guilt. She uses EMDR Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Play Therapy methods in her psychotherapy studies.
In addition to her psychotherapy studies, she is actively involved in projects and scientific studies carried out within DBE. She also takes part in the EMDR Association Trauma Recovery Group (EMDR-HAP) and voluntarily participates in field studies in the social traumas experienced in our country.
She is a member of Turkish Psychological Association, EMDR Association and Couple and Family Therapies Association.
