Özlem Yıldızhan
Specialist Psychological Counselor Özlem Yıldızhan completed her undergraduate education at Fatih University, Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance. She completed her master's degree at the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Bahçeşehir University with her thesis on “The Effect of Mindfulness-Based Psychoeducation Program on Anger Management Skills in Children”.
In addition to her undergraduate and graduate education, Özlem Yıldızhan also received EMDR I and EMDR II Level training given by Emre Konuk and Asena Yurtsever. She completed the EMDR Level I training for Children and Adolescents given by Ümran Korkmazlar. She completed the Experiential Play Therapy I and II Level trainings given by Nilüfer Devecigil and Byron Norton. She participated in the EMDR Sand Tray Protocol Intensive Specialization Program training given by Derya Altınay and the Child & Adolescent EMDR Therapist's Triathlon under the instructor of Pınar Fidancı. She completed the EMDR Flash Training given by Emre Konuk. She also participated in the Basic Mindfulness Trainings, which were taught by Bilge Uzun. Özlem Yıldızhan completed 450 hours of Family Counseling training at Yıldız Technical University. She has completed the Art Therapy Techniques training given by the Istanbul PDR Association.
Yıldızhan is a practitioner of the CAS Cognitive Assessment Scale and YBT-PASS Cognitive Intervention Program, trained by Istanbul University and Tamer Ergin. She is also a practitioner of the MOXO Attention Measurement Test.
Özlem Yıldızhan continues her psychodrama education at Abdülkadir Özbek Psychodrama Institute and is completing her third year in her education. She closely follows trainings, seminars, symposiums and publications related to her field.
As a psychological counselor in various educational institutions, she carried out psychological counseling, psycho-education, group therapy and group guidance studies with children, adolescents and their families.
Özlem Yıldızhan works with children and adolescents on emotional and behavioral problems, psychological traumas, anxiety disorders, fear, school adjustment process and problems, social skills, and counsels parents. Özlem Yıldızhan carries out studies to increase the learning performance of students with activities to support a wide range of cognitive performance, starting from gifted children to children with special learning difficulties and severe emotional difficulties.
Özlem Yıldızhan uses EMDR Therapy, Experiential Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Psychodrama, Family Counseling and Mindfulness techniques in her sessions.
She presented her research titled "The Effect of Mindfulness-Based Psychoeducation Program on Anger Management Skills in Children" as an verbal presentation at the 20th International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress.
She is a member of EMDR-TR Association.
