Özlem Yıldızhan who specializes in children and adolescents, completed her undergraduate education at Fatih University Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department. She completed her master's degree at the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Bahçeşehir University with her thesis on "The Effect of Mindfulness-Based Psychoeducation Program on Anger Management Skills in Children".
In addition to her undergraduate and graduate education, she completed EMDR I. and II. Levels given by Emre Konuk, EMDR I. Level for Children and Adolescents given by Ümran Korkmazlar, Experiential Play Therapy I. and II. Level given by Nilüfer Devecigil and Byron Norton, EMDR Sand Tray Protocol Intensive Specialization Program under the tutorship of Derya Altınay, the Triathlon of the Child & Adolescent EMDR Therapist under the tutorship of Pınar Fidancı, Basic Mindfulness training under the tutor of Bilge Uzun, 450 hours of Family Counseling at Yıldız Technical University, and Art Therapy Techniques provided by the Istanbul PDR Association.
Yıldızhan is also a practitioner of the CAS, Cognitive Assessment Scale, trained by Istanbul University. She continues her psychodrama education at Abdülkadir Özbek Psychodrama Institute and is completing her second year in her education. She closely follows training, seminars, symposiums and publications related to her field.
She has worked with children, adolescents and their families as a psychological counselor in various educational institutions. She organizes workshops and programs for children attending secondary school within the Mindful School Institute.
She has presented her research on “The Effects of Mindfulness-Based Psychoeducation Program on Anger Management Skills in Children” as an oral presentation at the 20th International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress.
She works with children and adolescents on emotional and behavioral problems, psychological traumas, anxiety disorders, fear, school adjustment process and problems, social skills, and counsels parents. She uses EMDR Therapy, Experiential Play Therapy and Mindfulness techniques in her sessions.
She is a member of the EMDR Association.
