Trauma
Institute for Behavioral Studies, Trauma Center is founded for providing counseling services to those experiencing trauma and to reduce the negative effects on individuals of disasters and other traumatic events. The Trauma Center provides training for our colleagues who desire to develop themselves and increase their skills. We aim at closing the gap in post-disaster response training in our country with a social awareness. The Trauma Center is a place where research, new ideas and creativity are developed, supported and propagated.
The staff at the Institute for Behavioral Studies have actively served in the trauma response operations carried out after 1999 earthquake, 2000 Hatay flood, September 10, 2001 Taksim bombing incident, 2002 Afyon earthquake and the THY airplane crash that took place in January 2003. Our aim is to set a model for the trauma centers to be founded in other regions of Turkey.
