Divorce and Child
Spouses may divorce each other but may not divorce from their children. Most of divorced spouses accomplish to have a unproblematic relationship each other for their children happiness. However, although passing of years, one third of spouses have difficulty in healthy relationship.
A family therapist Constance Ahrons’s research on divorced parents determine different types of relationships: “fast friends”, “well adjusted colleagues”, “angry collaborator”, “wrathful enemies” and “diffused couples”. However, it is possible that generating a cooperation and common understanding between parents in order to ensure children happiness even as they are “angry collaborator” or “wrathful enemies”. Conflicts between parent damage development of children; adjustment parent relationship take an important part on child development.
Most of parents who have a problematic relationship with their partner but are willing to take responsibility of their children begin to period with parallel parenthood. It means taking responsibility of child the whole time they are together. There is no flexibility about this subject and relationship with other parent is at least. When time passed and relief of offenses, parents may pass on to “co-development” model, in this case, one of parents communicate with other parent directly about all topics are regarding to child development. Marriage and family therapists may help to parents about child development topics after divorce.
